The town of "Le Touquet" became a popular coastal resort in the 1920s and 1930s and its close proximity to Paris and easy access to Britain makes this interesting town an excellent choice for a short break. In the last 5-10 years it has seen a resurgence with elite, smart hotels, luxurious villas and trendy shops and restaurants aplenty for your enjoyment. Le Touquet is surrounded by a huge pine forest planted in 1855 and wide endless beaches backed by sandy dunes. The racecourse and casino may appeal to some and the Aqualud is a vast semi-indoor water-based activity park with giant slides and wave makers; guaranteed to keep both children and adults alike happy all day long. In the Musee du Touquet you will find an eclectic array of paintings and sculptures on display, and if you have a penchant for chocolate, the 'Chocolats de Beussant' chocolate making factory with guided tours and chocolate tasting to die for will surely appeal! The Bagatelle amusement park offers some great rides for younger family members and you're sure to find some uinteresting bargains on Market day at the semi-covered market place, rue du Metz on Tuesday and Saturday mornings.
